Film France – CNC is hosting a half-day event in Los Angeles, in partnership with Variety and Villa Albertine, to showcase the benefits and incentives of shooting films and TV shows in France.<\/span><\/h6>\n

Everyone is familiar with France\u2019s rich history and enduring excellence in the cinematic arts. However, in the past decade, the country as experienced a surge in popularity as a production hot spot, attributed to a combination of incentives, diverse locations and top-notch crew.<\/p>\n

France, indeed, provides a unique blend of creativity, infrastructure, and fiscal incentive that make it a preferred choice for filming and creating visual effects (VFX). In 2022 alone, approximately 80 international productions chose France as their filming location and more than $2.1 million were spent with local VFX outfits according to Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In this context, on November 14th, France Film – CNC<\/a> organized a half-day event in Los Angeles in partnership with Variety<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Villa Albertine<\/a>. \u00ab\u00a0U.S. Filmmaking in France : Living The French Experience\u00a0\u00bb aimed to showcase the benefits and incentives of shooting films and TV shows in France, as well as the advantages of collaborating with local VFX studios.<\/p>\n

The gathering brought together representatives from France’s filmmaking industry, along with directors, producers, and executives who have recently filmed in France. This event provided a unique opportunity to foster relationships between talented French professionals and Hollywood decision-makers.<\/p>\n

As part of the schedule, Laurens Ehrmann, CEO of The Yard, was invited to participate in a panel discussion entitled \u00ab\u00a0Choosing France for Your VFX\u00a0\u00bb. Exemplifying \u201cla cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me\u201d of French VFX companies, as presented by Film France – CNC in the event brochure<\/a>, Laurens Ehrmann shared his experience of working with international productions and providing insights on The Yard’s latest projects, including ‘All The Light We Cannot See<\/a>‘,\u00a0<\/em>the limited series directed by Shawn Levy recently released on Netflix.<\/p>\n

It was a significant privilege for The Yard to be one of the three VFX French studios selected to represent the national expertise in this conference.<\/p>\n
