The Yard is in the press! The French newspaper La Lettre M has interviewed CEO Laurens Ehrmann about the studio’s development in Montpellier, in the south of France.<\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n

The French newspaper La Lettre M<\/a> recently interviewed Laurens Ehrmann, CEO of The Yard, regarding the latest developments for the studio in Montpellier, in the south of France. Despite the writers’ strike impacting the global film industry, the company maintains a sustained growth pace in the 2023 fiscal year, with a forecasted revenue of around 11.5 million Euros.<\/p>\n

The article reveals the finalization of the purchase of new premises near the Saint-Roch train station in Montpellier, just a couple of months after the inauguration<\/a> of the initial site at the H\u00f4tel d’Entreprises du Mill\u00e9naire.<\/p>\n

An exponential growth<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Created less than a decade ago, The Yard VFX has experienced exponential growth in the last 24 months. The company multiplied its workforce tenfold in two years, and its revenue surged from 1 to 11 million Euros during this period, largely due to the rise of streaming platforms amid the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Specializing in feature films and series, the company conducts 90% of its business internationally through a network established with clients, supervisors, and producers. Notably contributing to major productions like ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny<\/a>‘<\/em>, ‘John Wick : Chapter 4<\/a>‘<\/em>, and the upcoming season 2 of ‘The Rings of Power<\/a>‘ <\/em>series, the company successfully navigated the writers’ strike (from June to November) without resorting to layoffs.<\/p>\n

The Yard VFX has strengthened its leadership team by hiring a director for the 3D department<\/a> and an environment manager<\/a>. It plans to employ fifty workers in Montpellier by the end of 2024.<\/p>\n

As the winner<\/a> of the ‘La Grande Fabrique de l’Image’ project call for France 2030, The Yard VFX has chosen to establish its second studio in Montpellier due to synergies with local stakeholders. Through a collaborative response to a consultation, the company has formed strategic partnerships with the Montpellier-based school ArtFX<\/a> and the upcoming film center Pics Studio, envisioning the creation of 43,000 m2 of film production studios.<\/p>\n

The company plans to conduct initial master class sessions for ArtFX in early 2024 and launch a third studio in Lille<\/a> in March, connected to the establishment of a 6,000 m2 ArtFX campus<\/a> in the north of France in October 2023.<\/p>\n
