On the occasion of the 10th edition of the Genie Awards, which took place on January 31st, PIDS Enghien,<\/a> the Center for the Arts, along with the city of Enghien-les-Bains, honored Guillaume Rocheron, VFX Supervisor at DNEG, with the Genie of Honor.<\/p>\n

Recognizing his career in digital creation, the award celebrated his creativity, innovation, and vision in advancing the film and animated image industry. As reported by Le Film Fran\u00e7ais<\/a>, Guillaume Rocheron is a VFX supervisor, winner of multiple Oscars, Baftas, and VES Awards, notably for Ang Lee’s \u00ab\u00a0Life of Pi<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0\u00bb and Sam Mendes’ war film \u00ab\u00a01917<\/em><\/a>\u00ab\u00a0. He began his career in 2005 at BUF Compagnie, moving to the UK to work at MPC, where he became a VFX supervisor and contributed to 24 feature film projects over 17 years.<\/p>\n

More particularly, Laurens Ehrmann, founder of The Yard, who introduced the Genie d’Honneur to Guillaume Rocheron, emphasized his dedication to visual storytelling, making him a genuine architect of emotion.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=\u00a0\u00bb5″ images=\u00a0\u00bb7365,7368,7372,7367″ img_size=\u00a0\u00bbfull\u00a0\u00bb onclick=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

He explains how his childhood passion for photography and storytelling, along with his fascination for computing, led him to win an Imagina award for a short film while still a self-taught teenager. This opportunity allowed him to delve deeper into CGI at BUF Compagnie in France while studying at the Georges Melies school, paving the way for an incredibly fulfilling career driven by creating wonder for audiences through compelling stories.<\/p>\n
