The Yard VFX is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Fonvillars as the Head of the CG department. Tom will oversee all graphic creation for films and series. His appointment enhances the studio’s organization and management team at THE YARD, aiming to provide filmmakers with the services of a team highly experienced in international productions.
For over a decade, Tom Fonvillars has built a solid expertise in digital visual effects. Starting as a 3D generalist artist, Tom evolved in various positions, including technical director, supervisor for lighting and look development, and CG supervisor. Throughout his career, Tom has collaborated with renowned international studios such as The Mill and Framestore in London and Montreal. He has had the opportunity to contribute to projects for cinema and streaming platforms, involving extensive visual effects work encompassing complex environments and effects, as well as high-quality creatures. His filmography includes Edge of Tomorrow, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Thor: Ragnarok, Alita: Battle Angel, Lady and the Tramp, Army of The Dead, and more recently, Rebel Moon.

Tom Fonvillars’ appointment aligns with THE YARD’s recent announcements of expansion, including the opening of its second site in Montpellier as part of the France 2030 plan, « La Grande Fabrique de l’Image. »
Tom joins a team that has significantly expanded this year with the arrival of many French artists who have gained several years of experience abroad. He works closely with all management and senior executive teams on the studio’s episodic and cinematic projects.
