‘Les Indesirables’ in New York

Ladj Ly’s ‘Les Indesirables’ (also known as ‘Bâtiment 5′) will be presented at the film festival ‘Rendez-vous with French Cinema’ in New York !

Ladj Ly’s latest feature film, « Les Indésirables » (also known as « Bâtiment 5« ), is scheduled to be shown at the film festival « Rendez-vous with French Cinema 2024, » taking place in New York from February 29 to March 10.

Celebrating its 29th edition this year, the festival will offer an extraordinary lineup of feature films and documentaries, with more than half directed by women. The programming will once again demonstrate the wit, creativity, and depth of French cinema across a variety of genres. Current themes that traverse our contemporary societies will be particularly addressed by the festival: discrimination (« Les Indésirables »/ »Bâtiment 5, » by Ladj Ly), the question of gender (« Spirit of Ecstasy« / »La Vénus d’argent, » featuring Pomme), and also that of consent (« Consent, » by Vanessa Filho, inspired by Vanessa Springora’s book).
