Mark your calendar for World VFX Day 2025 ! The Yard renews its sponsorship and will join the global creative community in London to celebrate the skills and artistry in visual effects.

World VFX Day 2025, the free global event, returns on December 8th and will bring together filmmakers, the VFX and animation community, and fans everywhere.

This year’s edition will be hosted live from ILP’s London headquarters, featuring a full day of industry talks, behind-the-scenes insights, and conversations with some of the leading voices in VFX, animation, and visual storytelling. The event showcases the art, craft, and technology behind visual effects — highlighting the people and processes that transform imagination into cinematic reality.

We’re proud to announce that The Yard is once again a sponsor of World VFX Day, continuing our commitment to celebrating and supporting the global visual effects community. Launched in 2023, World VFX Day has now gathered more than 450 supporters worldwide, uniting a growing global community. This year also marks the introduction of local meetups taking place in cities around the world between 3–8 December, extending the celebration beyond the main live-stream.

The 2025 event will feature a series of international roundtable discussions, bringing together leading professionals from across the VFX community.

The Yard’s founder and creative director, Laurens Ehrmann, will participate in a leadership roundtable with Brian Carbin – Co-Founder at Stone Dogs, Lucy Cooper – MD at Union VFX, and Vikas Gandhi – MD at Gelaro Grace. The discussion will be streamed live from London at 12:30pm GMT.

Additionally, The Yard’s Head of CG, Tom Fonvillars will be featured in a Creative Technology roundtable, alongside Theo Jones from Framestore and Xuan Prada from ILP. In this conversation that will be streaming at 1:45am GMT, the panel discusses the evolving role of artists in the digital landscape, emphasizing the integration of digital tools while maintaining the importance of human creativity.
