The Yard team will be onsite in Cannes this May, joining the Festival de Cannes and the Marché du Film to connect with partners, creators, and innovators shaping the future of entertainment.
The 79th Festival de Cannes, taking place from May 12 to 23, 2026, celebrates a powerful symbol this year : Thelma & Louise has been chosen as the inspiration for the official poster, thirty-five years after Ridley Scott’s film premiered in Cannes. A story of freedom, friendship, and emancipation, the film remains deeply relevant today, reminding the industry how timeless stories can continue to resonate across generations. Its selection feels especially meaningful at a time when the cinema industry is navigating a period of profound transformation and faces major challenges, as Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Festival de Cannes, acknowledged in a recent interview.
Alongside the Festival, the Marché du Film will be running from May 12 to 20, 2026. Gathering more than 15,000 professionals from 140 countries, the global hub where ideas become partnerships and projects become reality.

From May 13 to 17, 2026, The Yard’s leadership team will be present at both the Festival de Cannes and the Marché du Film, the world’s leading marketplace for the film industry.
Represented by founder and creative director, Laurens Ehrmann, managing director, Marie Afriat and VFX supervisor Sebastien Nebout, we are looking forward to connecting with you to discuss VFX, or future collaboration.
We are also proud to share that The Yard has been selected as part of the very first La French Touch delegation at the Marché du Film. Driven by Bpifrance, the French Touch initiative connects cultural and creative industries to foster cross-sector innovation, collaboration, and business opportunities.
If you’ll be attending the Festival or the Marché du Film, reach out and schedule a meeting with The Yard team.
