June 1944. Europe is torn apart by war, and the D-Day landings are being prepared. Denis Porte devotes himself diligently to his daily work at an English military base... a fake one. His mission: to move dummy soldiers around each day to mislead the enemy. In the Porte family, there’s a tradition, passed from father to son, of dying a hero for France. So for his mother, there’s no way Denis is allowed to take any real risks. Running a fake base is the maximum level of danger she’ll tolerate for her son.
But after meeting Sami, an Algerian doctor dreaming of meeting De Gaulle, the two, during a boozy evening, decide to join the action. They set off bravely (and rather drunkenly). Except... they have the wrong date and the wrong place. Add to that a reluctant hero who absolutely wants to avoid any danger. D-Day, or almost...
