France Television shines a spotlight on the audiovisual industry

The Yard is on TV ! The studio is featured in France TV’s « Enquête de Région » documentary, which highlights the development of the cinema and audiovisual industry in the Occitanie Region.

We are thrilled to share that The Yard has been featured in the latest episode of France Télévisions’ program « Enquêtes de Région« . This special episode shines a spotlight on the thriving film and television industry in the Occitanie region, which proudly ranks as the second most popular filming destination in France.

The Occitanie region has emerged as a prime destination for cinema and television productions, thanks to its unique advantages. Its rich geographical diversity offers an unmatched variety of natural backdrops, from rugged coastlines to historic villages and modern urban settings. Complementing this is a growing pool of trained professionals, supported by specialized schools and state-of-the-art studios, which have flourished in the area, attracting production companies from across the globe.

Additionnally, strategic initiatives at regional and national level, like the France 2030 “Grande Fabrique de l’Image” call for projects, continue to bolster Occitanie’s reputation as a cultural and creative powerhouse.

In this episode of Enquêtes de Région, reporters Anne-Sophie Mandrou and Nicolas Albrand delved into how this vibrant industry contributes to the region’s economic and cultural development. They spoke with key players, including our team at The Yard.

After the opening of its local site in 2023, The Yard has quickly become a leading force in this dynamic industry. Jalil Benabdillah, Vice-President of the Occitanie region in charge of Economy, Employment, Innovation, and Reindustrialization, chose to be interviewed at The Yard, which establishment results from the region’s strategic efforts to structure and grow its cultural and creative industries.

During the program, Laurens Ehrmann, founder of The Tard, shared insights into the studio’s expansion strategy, including the reasons for inaugurating a new 650sqm site in Montpellier earlier this year.

The program also celebrated some of The Yard’s recent achievements, showcasing our involvement in high-profile productions such as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Halo Season 2,  and All the Light We Cannot See, a Netflix mini-series directed by Shawn Levy, which was partially shot in Occitanie.
