ARTFX is opening a new London campus and launching a Master’s program with Arts University Bournemouth, giving students hands-on expereience at the heart of the UK industry.
A new chapter begins for the visual effects community ! ARTFX — one of the world’s leading schools for film, animation, and visual effects — is launching a brand-new campus in London, led by Charles Chorein, ARTFX alumnus and VFX Supervisor. This new school is the result of an exciting partnership with Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) and will be hosted at the heart of The Yard VFX studio in Shoreditch — London’s vibrant creative hub.
The new London campus will offer the Master of Visual Effects and Photorealistic Computer Graphics (Level 7), accredited by AUB and internationally recognised. This one-year intensive Master’s program is designed as an advanced finishing school, bridging academic study and professional practice, enabling students to master the workflows, tools, and creative methods used in leading studios.
The programme is open to international students holding a Bachelor’s degree who wish to specialise in VFX right where the industry happens.
Located on the same premises as The Yard’s London studio and in close proximity to renowned VFX companies, the campus places students at the heart of the industry. Hosting the program reinforces The Yard’s commitment to excellence, collaboration, and nurturing talent to meet global industry standards.
The launch was celebrated last Thursday with Simon Vanesse (CEO of ARTFX), Charles Chorein (Managing Director and Head of ARTFX London School), Lisa Mann (Vice-Chancellor and CEO of AUB), Jonathan Carr (Director of the Bournemouth Film School at AUB), Laurens Ehrmann (Founder and Creative Director at The Yard) and Ben Owen (The Yard’s London Studio Manager), joined by representatives from some of the world’s leading VFX studios, the UK Screen Alliance, industry professionals and creative leaders.
The launch received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from participants, who saw in this new partnership a powerful boost for the UK’s VFX sector and future talent.
