The Yard VFX, an independent studio specializing in visual effects for feature films and episodic content, announces the expansion of its senior creative team with Alban Orlhiac joining as VFX Supervisor. This new appointment underscores The Yard’s commitment to building a highly experienced team and delivering world-class visual effects for top-tier international productions.
With over 25 years of experience in the VFX industry, Alban Orlhiac brings a wealth of expertise in artistic leadership and complex visual effects supervision. He spent two decades in London, working at world-renowned studios—including DNEG, MPC and Framestore—where he evolved from Lead Texture Artist to Head of Department, before returning to France as CG Supervisor and VFX Supervisor at One of Us. His large filmography spans numerous award-winning productions across diverse genres, including entries in the Avengers and Harry Potter franchises, The Midnight Sky, His Dark Materials, Alita : Battle Angel, Mary Poppins Returns, Paddington 2, Star Trek Beyond, The Tree of Life, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Batman Begins.

Joining The Yard is an amazing opportunity to take on new visual challenges and continue growing as a supervisor. It is also a privilege to reunite with former colleagues I worked with in the UK, and collaborate with a talented team who has recently produced impressive work. I am very proud to join them in their efforts to elevate France into a premier player in the global VFX industry.
Based out of both Paris and Montpellier, Alban Orlhiac will work closely with the studio’s supervisory team across both locations. Together, they will build on The Yard’s position as a leading VFX studio.
The appointment comes during a period of sustained growth for the studio, with high-profile projects such as Whalefall (20th Century Studios) and The Rings of Power – Season 3 (Amazon MGM Studios) currently in production. The Yard’s recent credits include VFX award-winning Stranger Things 5 (Netflix), Predator : Badlands (20th Century Studios), Etoile (Amazon MGM Studios), The Rings of Power – Season 2 (Amazon MGM Studios), All The Light We Cannot See (Netflix), and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (Disney).
