World VFX Day is kicking off an exciting brand-new in-person event series – Connects – starting with its very first edition at The Yard London !
A new way to connect in VFX
After years of working from home, feeling isolated, or catching up only on video calls, the need for face-to-face interaction has never been stronger. Connects by World VFX Day is a new series of meet-ups happening across cities worldwide, offering industry professionals a chance to gather, exchange ideas, and most importantly—spend quality time with colleagues, peers, and friends.
Each event will center around a different theme, touching on key aspects of VFX and animation while keeping the focus on building relationships within our community.
The very first Connects: Technical Meet Up in London
We’re kicking things off in London with a Technical “Connects” Meet Up, hosted at The Yard London and proudly sponsored by Illuma Cloud. This inaugural gathering will take place on September 17th and focus on one of the industry’s most vital topics: the pipeline.
This is the place for Pipeline TDs, Heads of IT, CTOs, and anyone deeply involved in keeping studio projects running smoothly. Expect insightful discussions, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and the kind of informal networking that reminds us why in-person connections matter so much.
