At the 2025 edition of U.S. Filmmaking in France: Living the French Experience in Los Angeles, The Yard stood among four leading French VFX studios presenting France’s world-class visual effects expertise to Hollywood decision-makers.
This October, The Yard joined Film France–CNC, Villa Albertine, and The American French Film Festival (TAFFF) in Los Angeles for the third edition of U.S. Filmmaking in France: Living the French Experience. Representing France’s creative and technical excellence in visual effects, Founder & Creative Director Laurens Ehrmann and Head of Production Virginie Wintrebert highlighted our studio’s latest work and growing transatlantic collaborations.
Designed to deepen connections between U.S. and French film professionals, the event offered exclusive insights into France’s production ecosystem—its world-renowned locations, cutting-edge studios, talented artists, and the advantages of the Tax Rebate for International Productions (TRIP).
For this third edition, Film France-CNC convened key Hollywood decision-makers to explore why France continues to rise as a premier destination for filmmaking and visual effects. The half-day event featured conferences, case studies, one-on-one meetings, and networking sessions.

Among the highlights was the panel “France, a VFX Powerhouse for Global Productions,” where Laurens Ehrmann represented The Yard alongside another top French VFX studio, One of Us. Together, they demonstrated how French studios are elevating major international productions through technical innovation and artistic excellence.
During the session, Laurens showcased some of The Yard’s recent work for global franchises and prestige series, including The Rings of Power – Season 2 (Amazon MGM Studios), Halo – Season 2 (Paramount +), and the HPA Award–winning, Emmy-nominated All The Light We Cannot See (Netflix).
The Yard’s participation reflects the studio’s commitment to deepening relationships with international partners and contributing to France’s thriving cinema and audiovisual production ecosystem. With studios in Paris, Montpellier, and now London, The Yard continues to strengthen its ties with global collaborators such as Amazon and Netflix—ensuring proximity, flexibility, and seamless project support.

Following the event, Variety interviewed Laurens about the current state of French VFX and The Yard’s growth strategy. He emphasized how the 2020 update to France’s TRIP incentive—including the 10% VFX bonus—has transformed the sector by boosting studio expansion, facilitating talent development, and attracting high-profile international projects.
Despite recent market shifts, Laurens Ehrmann also underlined why The Yard’s midsize model is an asset, bringing flexibility, agility, and closer relationship within an A-team and with the clients.
This philosophy has paid off. After collaborating on Ford v Ferrari, The Yard maintained strong ties with the film’s VFX supervisor, Olivier Dumont, leading to its involvement in Predator: Badlands. For this milestone project, The Yard delivered 120 complex shots and building new tools for future creature-driven work.
Through these collaborations, The Yard continues to push creative boundaries and bring bold, cinematic visions to life—from France to the world.
