Like every year, SideFX hosted a Houdini HIVE at the FMX in Stuttgart for two days of deep dive into the latest use cases of Houdini.
For this 2026 edition, Fabian Nowak, Head of FX at The Yard, was invited to present how he approached the simulations of the effects of Predator : Badlands. More specifically, he ran the audience through the range of subtle effects required for the film, that play a key part in the visual storytelling of three key sequences: the opening of the film, the cave fight and Thia reparing her body.
