SCOPE OF WORK
The Yard is proud to have contributed to this globally renowned franchise for the first time, with more than forty VFX shots featured across two episodes. Our team focused on high-quality invisible effects in CGI and 2D, including compositing work, that preserved the grounded realism of the series while enhancing the dramatic intensity of key scenes.
Our scope of work included:
- Muzzle flashes, gun smoke, and bullet impact effects on wood, stone, and brick surfaces, bringing authenticity and energy to the action sequences.
- Blood spurts, sprays, and wound enhancements from shotgun blasts, elevating the visceral realism of physical confrontations.
- Injector needle additions, serum effects, and visual cues for injection transformations, playing a subtle yet vital role in the storytelling.
- Vein animation and facial detail work to support character transitions and physical changes related to the storyline.
Broadcast on AMC and AMC+, and on Paramount+ in many countries out of the USA, The Book of Carol is a bold new chapter in the franchise, deepening the connection between its central characters and exploring themes of love, grief, and survival. The Yard is honored to have contributed to this landmark season that kept on bringing The Walking Dead universe to iconic French locations, transformed into striking post-apocalyptic settings.
