Greek Salad (French: Salade grecque) is a French comedy drama television series created by Cédric Klapisch, a renowned French filmmaker known for his work on films such as "L'Auberge Espagnole" and its sequels, which are acclaimed for their portrayal of multiculturalism and youth experiences.
Greek Salad is directed by a team of highly acclaimed French filmmakers Cedric Klapisch, Lola Doillon, and Antoine Garceau.
The show set in Greece, explores a range of contemporary issues and challenges that young people in Europe face today, such as sexual identity, as well as issues specific to Greece, such as the migrant and financial crises. It follows Tom and Mia as they move to Athens after inheriting a family apartment. He's a company start-upper, while she has become an anti-capitalist activist.
One of THE YARD’s challenges was the creation of an abandoned building that had to be integrated in the existing area. Shot in Greece, plate photography was enhanced with creating environment extensions and digital matte painting.
Along with the CG environment extension, THE YARD’s FX team also recreated a massive fire in the building using Houdini and Axiom Solver.
THE YARD’s artists also worked on a large range of digital matte painting and compositing shots.
