The Yard triumphs at the 2026 Genie Awards

The Yard VFX team wins four Genie Awards for its VFX work on Predator Badlands, Stranger Things 5 and Etoile

We are thrilled to announce that The Yard has achieved an incredible milestone at the 2026 Genie Awards ceremony, winning four prestigious awards—more than half of the total awards recognizing our work on Predator: Badlands, Stranger Things 5, and Étoile!

The Genie Awards celebrate the very best in French digital creation, highlighting exceptional talent, creativity, and craft. This recognition is a testament to the extraordinary talent, hard work, and dedication of our teams on these three international productions. Each award represents countless hours of collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment of our Paris and Montpellier teams to pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.

Congratulations to our outstanding nominees and winners! Your passion and expertise inspire us all.

Yesterday, Predator:Badlands earned two Genie Awards for Best VFX in a Feature Film and Best Characters/Creatures. We are particularly proud of these two awards, as this project was a first of its kind at The Yard in terms of characters and creatures complexity. The Yard’s founder and Creative Director, Laurens Ehrmann, will present the work done on the film during a conference today at 4:15pm at PIDS Enghien.

We are equally proud of the Genie Awards for Best Visual Effects in a Series that our team earned for their extraordinary work on Stranger Things 5

The Yard worked on 530 VFX shots, with a large portion on the Upside Down, that required a thourough work  on the environments, FX simulations and compositing.

An exclusive presentation of our work will be hosted by our VFX Supervisor, Harry Bardak, on Friday, Jan 23 at 5:15pm during the PIDS festival.

Finally, we are extremely happy to see Etoile winning the Genie Awards for Best FX Simulations. The Yard team worked on one of the most complex and ambitious sequence of the series. The 3,000-frame sequence, filmed with steadycam, had to blend practical and visual effects to depict a storm at sea.

We couldn’t be prouder of these achievements. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to these projects, to our clients and partners for their trust in our expertise, as well as the Genie Awards voters for recognizing the talent and passion of our teams.
