At this occasion, VFX Supervisor, Harry Bardak, and Head of FX, Fabian Nowak, shared insights on how to create spectacular visual effects… without the audience ever noticing them.
Both explained the work done by the team at The Yard, from digital set extensions to an ambitious storm-at-sea sequence filmed as a 3,000-frame continuous shot, highligting that the intent was to serve the narrative while staying completely invisible. The high quality of the effects simulations on the sequence earned The Yard a Genie Award this year at PIDS ENGHIEN.
