After Paris and Montpellier, The Yard VFX continues its expansion and announces the opening of a new studio in London.

The Yard VFX, a leading independent French visual effects (VFX) studio, announces the opening of its new studio in London. Globally recognized for its artistic excellence and high production standards in international films and episodics, The Yard has experienced significant growth in recent years. With this expansion, the studio aims to bring its unique fusion of French creativity and international production expertise to the UK’s thriving film and television industry.

Founded in Paris in 2014, The Yard has built a strong reputation for delivering industry-acclaimed visual effects for some of the most challenging international projects. The studio has collaborated with major film studios, production companies, and streaming platforms worldwide, bringing its distinctive creative vision and effective production management to projects ranging from independent films to large-scale franchises.

The Yard was notably awarded the 2023 Cesar (France’s Academy Awards) for Best Visual Effects on Notre Dame on Fire,” directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and has been nominated multiple times for prestigious awards, including the 2024 Emmy Awards for “All The Light We Cannot See,” directed by Shawn Levy.

Laurens Ehrmann is the founder of the France-based VFX studio The Yard and acts as the CEO and Senior VFX Supervisor.

Our strategy has always been to expand where there is a wealth of talent, and the UK has long proven its appeal to creative professionals, including many French artists.

By establishing a presence in London, The Yard offers international clients the dual advantage of its renowned creative expertise and the opportunity to benefit from the UK’s attractive film and TV tax relief programs. The London team will join a rapidly expanding group of talented artists, including many French professionals who have gained extensive experience working abroad. Their skills and artistry have contributed to major productions such as The Rings of Power – Season 2, Halo – Season 2, the Emmy-nominated All The Light We Cannot See, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and John Wick: Chapter 4.

THE YARD is an independant French creative company founded in 2014 by Laurens Ehrmann and specializing in film and series digital special effects services for cinema and streaming platforms.
