Following its four 2026 Genie Awards, The Yard had the pleasure to welcome french newspaper Midi Libre in its Montpellier studio and discuss its development in the south of France and its latest projects.
The Yard VFX has been featured on the front page of the French newspaper Midi Libre ! We are very grateful to the newspaper to dedicate a special spotlight on our creative work, international collaborations, and recent industry awards. Two weeks ago, The Yard won four Genie Awards, organized by PIDS ENGHIEN, for its work on Predator : Badlands, Stranger Things 5, and Etoile—with VFX crafted quitely from our studios in Montpellier and Paris.

The article comes back on the foundation of The Yard twelve years ago, and underlines its growing reputation as a trusted VFX partner on high-profile films and series for leading studios and streaming platforms, including Netflix, Amazon MGM Studios, and 20th Century Studios, to name a few. Midi Libre points out around fifty projects The Yard worked on, quoting french productions such as Greek Salad, directed by Cedric Klapisch, Father and Son with Omar Sy, or Cesar-winning Notre Dame on Fire, directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, and international productions such as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and The Rings of Power – Season 2.
The article also highlights what defines the VFX work at The Yard: long production timelines, absolute confidentiality, and extreme attention to detail, where months of work may results in just a few seconds of screen time. Whether enhancing real locations or creating entireley digital worlds and characters, the goal remains the same : seamless realism. Even though the visual effects are invisible, their impact reaches cinemas and living rooms worldwide.

As explained by Laurens Ehrmann, founder of The Yard, Montpellier plays a key role in this story. Beyond quality of life, the city has become a growing hub for creative industries, talent, and education. The Yard was indeed one of the winners of the France 2030 call for project « La Grande Fabrique de l’Image », for which the studio developed a local strategy with the internationally-renowned digital school ArtFX and set facility PICS STUDIO. Being part of this ecosystem allows The Yard to attract international artists, collaborate on global productions, and help build a strong future for VFX talent in France.
